Riviera

Earrings

Skill level: beginner

Toolbox:
• 4 emerald-green and 4 turquoise-colored crystals (size 6/0)
• 8 blue faceted beads (size 6/0)
• Green seed beads
• Silvery seed beads
• Nylon thread (size B)
• 2 silvery shell lever earring backs
• Beading needle

Step 1 (flowered pattern). Cut two 20 inches long pieces of thread. Make flowered patterns using the drawing to step 7 of `Riviera` bracelet project.

Step 2 (small pattern). Back one end of the thread through the circle into the beads of the pattern base, adding one green seed bead to each angle. Cross both threads inside the last bead. Then add two more seed beads to each thread and cross the threads inside the fifth bead, which is the common one.

Step 3. Put the clasp onto the reverse side of the flowered pattern and tie the small pattern over the shell, pulling the threads through the upper marginal bead, first.

Add two golden seed beads to each thread. Then cross the thread ends inside the bottom marginal bead of the small pattern.

Tie the thread ends together at the reverse side of the clasp. Pull one end of the thread through three lower beads of the flowered pattern base. Tie the knots and cut off the tails.
