Necklace
Skill level: advanced Toolbox: • Pale-pink pearl seed beads • 15 fuchsia-colored crystals (size 5/0) • 3 clear crystals (size 5/0) • 40 clear crystals (size 6/0) • 5 fuchsia-colored crystals (size 6/0) • 2 crimps • Nylon thread (size B) • Tipped silvery core • 9 metal silver-plated rings (size 8/0 to 6/0) • Silvery clasp • Pliers • Wire cutter • Beading needle Step 1 (central pattern). Cut 60 inches long piece of thread. Start working according to steps 1 – 2 of `Sweet Dreams` ring project. Use clear crystals (size 6/0) and fuchsia-colored crystals (size 5/0). Step 2 (rosette). Add two clear crystals (size 6/0) and two seed beads to one thread (interchange the crystals with the beads). Then add one fuchsia-colored crystal, one seed bead and one clear crystal there. Add a clear crystal to the other thread. Cross the threads inside a new seed beads. Then add four seed beads to one of the threads and make a small loop, pulling the threads according to the drawing.
Step 3. To continue making the rosette, follow the drawing. Step 4 (flowered patterns). Make a new pentagon. Put the thread ends together and place a seed bead there. Then add five fuchsia-colored crystals (size 5/0) and four seed beads to one thread (interchange the crystals with the beads). Cross the threads inside the last bead. Step 5. Put the thread ends together and place a clear crystal (size 6/0) there. Then add five seed beads to one end of the thread. Make a small loop and continue working according to the drawing to steps 1 – 2 of the ring project. To accomplish the flowered pattern, add three seed beads to each end of the thread and one clear crystal (size 5/0) to the thread ends put together. Add three or four seed beads more and leave the thread ends free. Step 6. Prepare 24 inches long piece of thread to make a flowered pattern symmetrically on the other side of the rosette. Pull the thread end through the seed beads of the rosette edge small loop, through the crystal and through the marginal seed bead. Then make a pentagonal base and continue working according to the same drawing. Step 7 (finishing). To finish the work, just add seed beads to each end of the thread. Adjust the necklace length. Add a crimp, a seed bead and a metal ring. Pull the threads backwards, take out all the slack between the beads and secure the crimp. There must be a clasp on one end of the necklace and a jump rings chain with an accent charm on the other end. Use crystal (size 5/0) to make the accent charm. You can make a pendant in the same way. |
